Smoking Information & Helpful Links on Quitting
Smoking is the #1 cause of preventable death in the U.S., causing over 393,000
deaths per year.
Secondhand smoke is a serious health hazard for people of all ages and is estimated to
cause close to 50,000 deaths each year.
Smoking can cause many diseases, including lung cancer, mouth cancers and
heart disease. It can also cause a cough that won't go away, and it may
make it hard for you to breathe.
It sounds easy to "Just say no" to drugs, alcohol and tobacco,
but it may not be so simple. Don't allow anyone or anything to convince
you that it's okay to smoke.
