
The Regional Medical Center’s Nutrition Services Department provides Outpatient Nutrition Counseling for patients who need individual assistance with nutrition counseling or weight management. In this program, you will work with a Registered Dietician and build a diet designed to meet your healthcare goals.
All patients must have a physician’s referral. Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance are accepted.
The social stigma behind weight and health consciousness have led to widespread
misinformation regarding dieting. “Fad” diets you find online
or advertised on TV may work for some people, but every person has a different
body type and metabolism. There is no “one-size-fits-all”
diet, and starting a diet without discussing it with your doctor can be
dangerous.
Registered Dieticians are trained medical professionals who had to earn certification before they could call themselves dieticians. In nutritional counseling, the Registered Dietician will take the time to learn more about you, your medical history, and your metabolism in order to build a nutrition plan that meets your needs.
