Outpatient Infusion Services at Regional Medical Center (RMC) offers a full range of outpatient infusion and injection services for patients who need treatment on a regular or infrequent basis, without requiring hospitalization. RMC’s team of skilled nurses and pharmacists will work with physicians to administer infusions and perform diagnostic testing as required.

Indications for Infusion Services:

  • Blood Transfusion
  • IV Fluids for Hydration
  • IV Antibiotics
  • Vaccinations
  • Portacath Management
  • Injections

Infusions and injections are administered for a variety of disorders such as infections and chronic conditions including as Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis and asthma.

Peripherally-Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) and Midline Insertion services are also offered on an outpatient basis at RMC. PICC and Midlines are inserted into a vein using ultrasound technology and can be used for an extended amount of time. They allow patients to receive long-term intravenous (IV) therapy without repetitive IV insertions or hospitalization.

  • Chemotherapy
  • Long Term Antibiotic Therapy
  • Hydration
  • TPN - Intravenous Nutrition
  • Management of Chronic Disease Processes

A signed doctor’s order* for infusions and PICC/Midline insertion is required. * Orders must include diagnosis and length of therapy.
