Being at home helps you feel better about yourself and gives you and your
family a more direct role in your care. Our Home Care team understands
how important this is in your recovery process.
Established in 1997, the Regional Medical Center’s (RMC) Home Care program serves Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties and offers a wide range of in-home services to individuals and their families.
Home care is usually prescribed to patients who are ready to be discharged from the hospital but require continued care as they recover from their illness or surgery. Home care allows patients to receive hospital quality care and individualized attention in the comfort of their own homes.
RMC Home Care is a state-licensed, hospital-based agency certified by Medicare and Medicaid. Most costs for services are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, Veterans Administration insurance or private insurance. Patients may pay directly for services or may be eligible for financial assistance.
RMC Home Care is a Joint Commission accredited home health care provider, which means it has demonstrated
an unmatched level of performance excellence, resulting in better outcomes,
fewer re-admissions, a timelier start to care and better symptom management.
RMC Home Care received a patient satisfaction rating of 5 out of 5 stars on the Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (HHCHPS) Home Health Care Survey. The survey was designed to measure the experiences of people receiving home care from Medicare-certified home care agencies. Most agencies receive a three star rating.
