Am I able to be tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) at RMC Express Care?
A: Of course. You can receive a rapid molecular COVID-19 or a PCR nasopharyngeal
send-out test at RMC Express Care.
Q: How long does it take to get the results for rapid molecular and nasopharyngeal tests?
A: Rapid molecular results will be available in less than 30 minutes and
you will receive those during your visit. The nasopharyngeal test must
be sent out and can take anywhere from 5-12 days for results.
Q: How do I get my results?
A:Once Express Care receives your results you will receive a call from one
of our clinic team members who will provide you with those results. Or,
if you have access to your Regional Medical Center patient portal, once
reported, you should be able to view those results online at your convenience.

What should I do if I have symptoms of the coronavirus (COVID-19)?
A: If you are having symptoms associated with coronavirus (COVID-19) such
as fever, diarrhea, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, or any other
like symptoms we encourage you to visit RMC Express Care to obtain a rapid
molecular COVID-19 test as soon as possible. If you have questions, call
us directly at (803) 395 – 3400 for more information.
Q: Can I be tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) at RMC Express Care for clearance
purposes? This may include, but not be limited to: travel, sports, work,
and school.
A: Yes, but this would be offered at the self-pay rate of $130.00.
Q: Can I walk-in or do I need to schedule an appointment for coronavirus (COVID-19) testing?
A: Please schedule your appointment and
Save Your Spot online by visiting www.trmc.health.org and call us 803-395-3400 when you
arrive outside and we will provide you with next steps. OR, you can come
to RMC Express Care without a scheduled appointment, park in one of our
numbered Express Care parking spots and call us at 803-395-3400 for further
instructions. By scheduling your appointment online you will reduce your
out of office wait time.
Q: Does RMC Express Care provide antibody testing and what does this mean?
A: Yes, RMC Express Care offers antibody testing. An antibody test is used
to identify the presence of antibodies. This would indicate if a person
has had an immune response to coronavirus or SARS COV 2 (COVID-19).
Q: What type of specimen is needed for antibody testing?
A: This is a blood test and done through a venous blood draw.
Q: How long will it take to get my antibody results?
A:
Generally, you should have your results in 72 hours. However, with increases
in volume and demand, at times, may take longer than 72 hours for you
to receive your results. You will receive a call form one of our clinic
staff once we receive those results.
