A specialty of Internal Medicine, Cardiology focuses on disorders of the heart. Cardiologists diagnose and treat a variety of conditions such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, congenital heart defects, electrophysiology disorders and heart failure. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. and it is often a silent killer. At Regional Medical Center, we are doing our part to change that.
Our services include:
Our three cardiology offices in Orangeburg have merged to form RMC Cardiology, a department of Regional Medical Center. The staff at all three offices will continue to work at their current locations and provide excellent health care to their patients. The change means that the staff will be a part of a larger team of health care professionals who have access to state-of-the-art technology and input from knowledgeable colleagues.
Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties are home to many small, rural communities. Treating heart disease often involves participating in long-term care programs such as cardiac rehabilitation, which means numerous trips to a medical center for several weeks. Without a local health care provider, residents would have to drive long distances to receive the care they need. At RMC, we provide the resources of a big city hospital to our local community. You can rest easy knowing you will always have a skilled team ready to take care of you at a location close to home.
