Saving Lives In Our Community

Have your business, industry, school or organization host a blood drive!

Accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks and the Food and Drug Administration, the Regional Medical Center's Blood Assurance Program is one of two independent, community-based blood donor programs in South Carolina.

Since blood is a vital resource that requires constant replenishment, the Regional Medical Center depends on the active participation of community members and organizations to meet the blood needs of patients.

Each blood donation can help save up to three lives. Blood can be donated every eight weeks. Most medications are acceptable such as blood pressure and cholesterol medications. Diabetics, who are non-insulin dependent, are also eligible to donate.

All blood collected at the Regional Medical Center's Blood Donor Center and on the RMC Bloodmobile stays in the community. RMC's Bloodmobile allows access to many community blood donors who would not otherwise be able to participate.

For information about hosting a Blood Drive, please call 803-395-2419 (toll free in S.C. 800-476-3377, ext. 2419).

If sponsoring a blood drive is not possible for you, please come and donate at the Blood Assurance Program Donor Center at RMC.
