Regional Medical Center accepts all insurances – none are refused. Our experienced staff helps with filing insurance, Medicare and Medicaid claims and attempts to make the business end of your hospital experience easier for you and your family.

Patient Billing - as a courtesy to our patients, RMC will file all necessary third-party payor claims once the information has been provided to us. RMC has signed managed care/preferred provider contracts with the following insurance carriers:

Charity Care Forgiveness - To determine eligibility, a Financial Assistance Application with required documentation must be completed and delivered to the Regional Medical Center Patient Account Services Office (Patient Registration Entrance) at 3000 St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118, or mailed to RMC’s Patient Account Services Office, P.O. Box 1306, Orangeburg, SC 29116. Those eligible for charity care adjustments will be notified. If you have questions about charity care, please call 803-395-2257 (toll free in S.C. 1-800-476-3377, ext. 2257).

NOTE - If you receive certain tests or procedures during your hospital stay, you will receive multiple bills. For example, a patient could receive bills for services performed by a surgeon, or anesthesiologist and a radiologist (physician who reads X-Rays). Also, if you have surgery that requires pathology services, you will receive a bill for professional interpretation fees from the physician (pathologist) who evaluates the sample. Billing questions for these entities should be addressed to the contact information included in the billing statement.
Insurance Claims - RMC’s Patient Account Services staff work as a patient advocate with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed and paid in a timely manner. Our staff help you weed through the often confusing claims and denial process. RMC is committed to resolving claim issues quickly to help our patients avoid the stress of delayed or unpaid claims.
