Effective Monday, October 4, 2021, New inpatient visiting hours are 10:00 am - 6:00pm. No visitors allowed for COVID-19 positive patients. Patients are allowed one (1) visitor at a time (switching is allowed). Visitors are also allowed in ICU. Exception: Children or patients requiring assistance to maintain safety as determined by the clinical staff. Patients are allowed a limited number of visitors at the end of life. If COVID positive patient is at the end of life, staff MUST accompany visitor to ensure visitor(s) are wearing appropriate PPE. Maternity patients are allowed 1 support person during labor and delivery and it must be the same person. Emergency Department is not allowing visitation unless that patient is a child or requires assistance. No visitors under 18 years of age. Vendors should have an appointment with the appropriate department. No cold calls are allowed.

Express Care Administers COVID-19 Vaccine Every Friday

RMC Offers Pfizer-BioNtech 3rd dose
for Those Who Are Eligible at Express Care

No registration is required. Parental consent will be required for anyone under 18 years old. Third dose will be administered on a first-come, first-serve, walk-in basis.

Pfizer-BioNTech (ages 12 years and older) vaccine available as 3rd dose for those who have previously received the initial two doses and meet one of the below criteria.

Eligible for a 3rd dose includes those:

1. 18 - 64 years old and at risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission, and received the 2nd dose at least six months ago, or
2. 65 years and older, or
3. Individuals with certain medical conditions or those receiving treatments that are associated with moderate to severe immune compromise:

  • Active/recent treatment for tumors or hematologic malignancies/cancers of the blood. (Hematologic malignancies are cancers that affect the blood, bone marrow, and lymph nodes. This classification includes various types of leukemia (acute lymphocytic (ALL), chronic lymphocytic (CLL), acute myeloid (AML), chronic myeloid (CML)), myeloma, and lymphoma (Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's (NHL)).
  • Other hematologic/blood disorder, which can cause a compromised immune system.
  • Received a solid-organ transplant and taking medication to suppress the immune system.
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or taking medication to suppress the immune system.
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndromes).
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection.
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids (i.e., ≥20mg prednisone or equivalent per day), alkylating agents, antimetabolites, transplant-related immunosuppressive drugs, cancer chemotherapeutic agents classified as severely immunosuppressive, tumor-necrosis (TNF) blockers, and other biologic agents that are immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory

Per CDC, the 3rd dose should be administered at least 4 weeks after the 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine. Those eligible for a 3rd dose should receive the same vaccine as received for their 1st and 2nd doses.

Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg & Calhoun Counties (RMC) will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine, while supplies last, from 9am - 1pm at RMC Express Care as listed below.

Vaccines:

  • Pfizer available as 1st, 2nd , 3rd dose for those who are 12 years of age and older
  • Moderna available as 1st and 2nd dose for those who are 18 years of age and older

No registration is required.

Parental/guardian consent will be required for anyone under 18 years old.


Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-serve, walk-in basis.

Regional Medical Center has implemented the following Visitor Guidelines:

1. One Visitor per patient per day. No visitors are allowed for any COVID patient or any patients in the ICU.
2. Patients are allowed a limited number of visitors at the end of life. If COVID positive patient is at the end of life, staff MUST accompany visitor to ensure visitor(s) are wearing appropriate PPE.
3. No visitors under 18 years of age in the hospital.
4. Maternity patients are allowed 1 support person during labor and delivery. It must be the same person.
5. Emergency Department is not allowing visitation unless that patient is a child or requires assistance.
6. Vendors should have an appointment with the appropriate department. No cold calls are allowed.
7. Sleep Lab will resume operations for sleep studies. Two patients will be scheduled each night. Masking is required and patients are encouraged to wear their own masks. A mask will be provided if patients do not have one. Patients are to enter through the Emergency Department for their 8:00 pm appointment.
8. HEALTHPLEX | Annex has returned to regular hours with reduced capacity: 5:00 am to 10:00 pm (seven days a week) Max Occupancy: 17 (at any given time) Masking is required and HEALTHPLEX members are encouraged to wear their own masks. A mask will be provided if members do not have one. Members must enter through the HEALTHPLEX entrance, lower level, RMC Annex Building.
9. All HEALTHPLEX fitness locations have reopened with limited capacity, masks are required to be worn upon entry and exiting:
