Except Dialysis Access and Emergency Department patients, Please go to those Entrances .

Regional Medical Center appreciates the understanding of our patients, families, and communities during this difficult and challenging time. Please know that we care about our community, patients, families and staff and we are following CDC recommendations to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

You can also help prevent the spread and minimize risks. Here are some tips:

  • Practice social distancing as much as possible. Avoid gathering in groups of more than 10 people.
  • Try to keep a distance of six feet between you and others.
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds in warm soapy water. If soap and water are not available, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • If you feel sick and are having flu-like symptoms – contact your physician immediately by phone. Do not go to the office until you have spoken to a staff member.

The following measures are currently in place at RMC:

  • VISITATION:
  • Patients in active labor will be allowed one visitor. Only the same visitor will be able to visit the patient daily.

    Patients receiving inpatient surgery will be allowed one visitor to accompany the patient after surgery until 9 pm the day of surgery.

    Children under 18 will not be allowed to visit patients or accompany patients to any appointments.

    Individuals dropping off a patient for an appointment are to wait in their car. They are not to enter the hospital, nor visit restrooms, cafeteria, etc. These individuals may not wait in a waiting room or common area unless they have been screened and approved as a visitor.

    All other visitors and vendors will not be allowed in the hospital until visitation restrictions have been lifted.

  • All outpatient procedures are cancelled unless deemed urgent or emergent.
    This includes:

    1. Cardiology testing on-site; these will be conducted at 1892 St. Matthews Road, until further notice.
    2. Vein Clinic and Vascular Lab
    3. Interventional Radiology
    4. Lab in RMC (patients may go to the lab in the Medical Arts Building)
    5. Radiology (only urgent and emergent testing)
    6. Rehabilitation (Main and Santee)
    a. Cardiac Rehab (reduced services)
    7. Same Day Surgery

  • Patients coming to the Dialysis Access Institute should enter the triage tent in front of the DAI’s main entrance for verbal screening. Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Patients coming to the Emergency Department should enter the triage tent in front of the Emergency Department for verbal screening. 24/7
  • All other patients are to enter through the Patient Registration triage tent. Monday- Friday: 5:30 am - 7:30 pm; Saturday - Sunday: 8:30 am - 7:30 pm
  • Delivery of floral arrangements, etc. will not be allowed.
  • Regional Medical Center’s Gift Shop and Cafeteria will be closed to the public until further notice.
  • The fitness portion of all Regional Medical Center HEALTHPLEX locations will be temporarily closed to prevent disease transmission. Rehabilitation services in Orangeburg and Santee will continue.
