RMC Welcomes New Director of Business Development and Strategy

Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Gregory Gwisc, MBA, has been hired to serve as the organization’s director of business development and strategy.

Gwisc will be responsible for developing data-driven strategic business plans to help ensure that RMC is well positioned for optimal growth and sustainability in today’s rapidly changing and highly competitive health care environment. At the heart of Gwisc’s new role will be the analysis, understanding and integration of data collected from multiple sources for the purpose of yielding actionable market intelligence that is both timely and reliable. Accordingly, Gwisc will oversee business development, market research, Certificate of Need applications and other areas as assigned by RMC Vice President of Strategy and Marketing Carol Koenecke-Grant.

Gwisc joins RMC from Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health, where as director of business development he was responsible for managing major strategic projects and initiatives including Certificate of Need submissions, new hospital development, operations management, program development, revenue targets, hospital effectiveness and pro-forma analysis. Previously, Gwisc served as director of marketing and account services at Advanced Behavioral Health in Middletown, Conn., and as a sales representative for Endo Pharmaceuticals in Malvern, Pa.

Gwisc earned a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in marketing and healthcare administration from the University of Connecticut School of Business in Storrs, Conn., and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
