Tri-County Affordable Care Act Work Group to Hold Open Enrollment Events


The Tri-County Affordable Care Act Work Group led by Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter will hold a series of open enrollment events for the public to obtain health insurance through the health insurance marketplace before the January 31 deadline.

Special sign-up events are being offered at area churches and Health Insurance Navigators and Certified Application Counselors will be available at each event to help individuals sign up for health insurance. All events are open to the public.

Events will take place Sunday, January 29 at Edisto Fork United Methodist Church and Williams Chapel AME Church in Orangeburg from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Tuesday, January 31 at Good Shepherd Community Ministries in Orangeburg from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Those interested in signing up for health insurance must bring their social security numbers, employer and income information for every member of the household who needs coverage, this include W-2 forms, wage and tax statements or paystubs, and all policy numbers for any current health insurance plans.
