RMC Named Clinical Site of the Year for Outstanding Pharmacy Performance


The Regional Medical Center (RMC) was named the 2016 Clinical Site of the Year for Outstanding Pharmacy Performance by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS).

“Skilled pharmacy services are essential to providing quality care for our patients,” said RMC Vice President of Emergency and Pharmacy Services Daniel L. Avosso, MD, MBA, FACEP, FACHE, “This award is recognition of that commitment to quality by our pharmacy staff.”

The CPS Clinical Site of the Year award is given for excellence in hospital clinical pharmacy, supporting all aspects of hospital operations through clinical pharmacy techniques and demonstrated leadership.

The award was presented during the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas, Nev., in December, the largest gathering of pharmacists in the world with over 20,000 pharmacy professionals from around the globe. The meeting is an important educational venue for the latest in hospital pharmacy trends and techniques. During the ASHP meeting, CPS holds a gathering of hundreds of pharmacy professionals to recognize outstanding contributions to the practice of hospital pharmacy throughout the country.

RMC’s inpatient pharmacy serves patients in the 286-bed hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
