Interested in a Nursing Career? Applications Now Available for RMC Foundation Virginia B. Johnson Nursing Scholarship 2017

The Regional Medical Center Foundation announces applications are being accepted for Virginia B. Johnson Scholarships to be awarded for Fall 2017.

The Scholarship Fund is named for Virginia Blount Johnson, long-time leader in the Orangeburg civic and medical communities. In her memory and through this scholarship, prospective nurses are receiving help in achieving their career goals. Since 2001, grants totaling $154,500 have been made to 163 nursing students.

Only students who are pursuing R.N. credentials through an associate’s, a bachelor’s or a graduate nursing degree offered by an accredited program are eligible. The Scholarship Committee will place increased emphasis on academic achievement. Applicants must be in or beginning at least the second year of their program and have posted a GPA of at least 3.0 during the most recent semester. Also, applicants must be a resident of Orangeburg or Calhoun counties of South Carolina or be a resident of an adjacent county enrolled in an accredited program in Orangeburg.
