Ehrhardt Recognized as the 2017 Exemplary Recent Graduate by MUSC College of Nursing Alumni

Sonya Ehrhardt, DNP, RN NEA-BC, CPHQ has been recognized by the MUSC College of Nursing Alumni Association as the 2017 Exemplary Recent Graduate.  
Sonya Ehrhardt, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CPHQ was recently honored with the 2017 Exemplary Recent Graduate award by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Nursing (CON) Alumni Association.

The MUSC College of Nursing Alumni awards an alumnus or alumnae with this recognition who has distinguished themselves professionally in the field of nursing. Dr. Ehrhardt graduated from the MUSC College of Nursing in 2013 with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on nursing administration and leadership. She received her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) with a focus on nursing administration and education from the MUSC CON in 2011.

Dr. Ehrhardt serves as an Assistant Vice President of Patient and Family Services and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer and has director responsibilities for Infection Prevention, Access Resource Team, Advanced Wound Healing, Hyperbaric Center, Infusion Center and Diabetes at the Regional Medical Center (RMC). Dr. Ehrhardt is the coordinator for nursing education at RMC and facilitates student nursing education from RN to BSN, BSN to MSN, and also DNP degrees. She is a former adjunct nursing instructor for the University of South Carolina Upstate and currently teaches in the Claflin University RN to BSN program.

Since receiving her DNP, Dr. Ehrhardt currently serves on the South Carolina Board of Nursing (SCBON) and the SCBON Advisory Committee on Nursing Education. She holds an Advanced Nurse Executive Board Certification (NEA-BC) and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

Previously, Dr. Ehrhardt has served as the Midlands Director and Board Member for the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology of South Carolina. She was also on the planning committee for the South Carolina Nursing Excellence Conference from 2014 – 2016.

Dr. Ehrhardt is married to Richard Ehrhardt, pastor of Edisto Baptist Church, and they have two children, Zachary and Madison.
