Dr. London and Dr. Ewart Join Dr. Ross at RMC’s Dialysis Access Institute

Mark London, MD, Jackson Ewart, MD, and have joined world-renowned surgeon Dr. John Ross at the Regional Medical Center’s Dialysis Access Institute (DAI).

Dr. Ross established the DAI when he joined RMC in 2011, and the free-standing, 16,000-square-foot facility was completed in 2013. The DAI serves end-stage renal (kidney) disease patients whose access to the bloodstream for dialysis needs to be established or has been compromised. The team completes more than 4,000 dialysis access procedures each year.

Dr. London, a native of Australia, joins the DAI from Warren General Hospital in Warren, Penn., where he was a general surgeon specializing in dialysis access, advanced laparoscopic, minor thoracic, vascular, endoscopic and all general surgery procedures. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. 

Jackson Ewart, MD

Dr. London received his medical degree from St. Matthews University in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Ill. and a residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital/University of Illinois College of Medicine also in Chicago, Ill.

Dr. Ewart brings more than 30 years of experience in providing dialysis access to the DAI team. Prior to joining RMC, Dr. Ewart worked with Low County Surgical Associates in Georgetown, S.C. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Ewart received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He completed an internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Ewart also completed an internship and residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C.

The Dialysis Access Institute houses four advanced surgical suites. DAI also provides extensive teaching capabilities both on-site and via live video streaming. Dr. Ross is considered one of the world's experts in dialysis access procedures and is a pioneer in the field of dialysis access placement and management. Physicians from throughout the world visit RMC to be trained in these procedures.
