Regional Medical Center’s Wound Center treats the largest number of wound patients in the entire state and has the second highest volume of wound patients in the Southeast. Regional Medical Center’s Wound Center provides outpatient treatment and management of pressure ulcers and chronic wounds resulting from diabetes, sickle cell anemia and vascular disease, as well as care and education to patients with ostomies and incontinence. The wound team, which includes certified nurses, a licensed physical therapist and an infectious disease specialist, employs advanced wound care modalities such as negative pressure, pulsed lavage, ultrasound MIST, bio-engineered tissue grafts and anodyne therapy to enhance would healing and improve circulation. |  |
