Who May Benefit
Potential candidates for rehabilitation at the RehabCentre include patients who, as a result of injury or illness, may experience:
- Balance and coordination problems
- Difficulty swallowing
- Difficulty moving in bed or from one place to another
- Difficulty performing activities of daily living such as eating, grooming, dressing, bathing and homemaking
- Memory and judgment difficulties, speech or language problems, as well as physical limitations
Admission Criteria
RehabCare welcomes referrals from doctors, social workers, family members, insurance representatives, case managers and patients themselves. To be eligible for admission, the individual must:
- require daily access to a rehabilitation physician, who will oversee the patient’s medical needs and functional plan of care,
- require 24-hour rehabilitative nursing,
- require at least 2 forms of therapy,
- be able to tolerate a relatively intense therapy program, consisting of at least 3 hours of therapy per day, 5 days a week, or have the potential to build up to this within 10 days,
- have the ability to achieve rehabilitation goals in a reasonable time period.
The RehabCentre accepts most major medical insurance carriers, including Medicare.
