The Regional Medical Center’s Vascular Center is offering three painless, noninvasive screenings to check for the presence of vascular disease.
The screenings include:
1. Carotid Arteries Scan: checks for plaque in the major arteries that feed the brain (blockage in these arteries can lead to stroke)
2. Abdominal Aorta Scan: checks for bulging (aneurysm) in main artery that runs from the heart through the body (4-hour fast required)
3. Ankle Brachial Index: checks blood flow (blood pressure) in the legs.
The Regional Medical Center’s Vascular Center is nationally accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular
Laboratories. Your screening results will be reviewed by Dr. J.W. Babb III, a board-certified vascular surgeon. Participants and their physicians will
receive the test results.
At present, Medicare does not cover reimbursement for most vascular screenings. Insurance claims will not be filed through this screening program. Cash, checks or credit cards are accepted.
