Two orthopaedic surgeons and physician assistants comprise the South Carolina Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) providing orthopaedic services to the Regional Medical Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
They specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, both operative and non operative, including:
- Total Joint Replacement
- Arthroscopic Surgery
- General Orthopaedics
- Trauma
- Arthritis Management
- Bone and Joint Care
- Hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery
Patients are seen by appointment only. SCOI accepts and participate in Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS and most private insurance plans.

Directions:
South Carolina Orthopaedic Institute is located on the Regional Medical Center campus, next to the Emergency Department. To reach our offices, turn onto Cook Road from Highway 601. Then turn into the second or third drive on the right. We are located on the second floor of the Medical Arts Building, in Suite 215.

Joint Center at the Regional Medical Center - Designated by Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, the Joint Center at RMC provides conservative care and total joint replacement surgery for patients who suffer from chronic joint pain. - HealthPlex at Santee, located conveniently in the heart of Santee, is our satellite facility offering wellness and rehabilitation services to those in the eastern portion of Regional Medical Center’s service area.
- HealthPlex — Branchville, this satellite facility offers cardiovascular fitness, weight training and wellness services to those in the southern portion of Regional Medical Center’s service area. Staffed by an exercise physiologist, HealthPlex — Branchville offers a full range of strengthening and conditioning equipment and fitness programs.
- HealthPlex — Holly Hill, this satellite facility offers offers full range of gym services featuring a variety of cardio equipment and weight training. A staff exercise physiologist provides fitness tests and personal training sessions.
