Dr. Buckaloo Joins S.C. Orthopaedic Institute


Dr. Jerrold Buckaloo has joined Dr. James Marro, Dr. Lucius Craig III and Dr. Charles H. Hughes, Jr. in the practice of orthopaedic surgery at South Carolina Orthopaedic Institute, an affiliate of the Regional Medical Center.

Originally from Tennessee, Dr. Buckaloo received his undergraduate education at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn., and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Memphis, Tenn.

He completed an internship and orthopaedic residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., where he served as chief resident. Dr. Buckaloo completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

He comes to Orangeburg from Charleston, S.C., where he was in private practice for 10 years. Previously, he was in private practice for two years in Georgia.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Buckaloo completed further specialty training in hand surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has extensive experience in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery as well as general orthopaedics, fracture care and sports medicine.

A fellow of the American Academy of Orthpaedic Surgeons, Dr. Buckaloo is also a member of the S.C. Orthopaedic Society and the Medical Society of South Carolina.
