| Orangeburg Native Whitney Wolfe Thoma Joins Medical Staff |

Whitney Wolfe Thoma, M.D., has received medical staff privileges at the Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Thoma, who grew up in Orangeburg and is a graduate of Orangeburg Preparatory Schools, has returned to Orangeburg and joined Connor's Healthcare for Women, the obstetrics and gynecology practice of Susan K. Connor, M.D.
Dr. Thoma received a bachelor's degree in biology from Wofford College in Spartanburg and a medical degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Carilion Health System - the University of Virginia in Roanoke, where she served on the Residency Academic Committee of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and was Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Association and the Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Prior to practicing in Orangeburg, Dr. Thoma was affiliated with Chapin Women's Care - Lexington Medical System. She previously served as an assistant professor for the University of South Carolina Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and in private practice at Women Physician Associates, PA, in Columbia.
She and her husband, Chris, have two children - Noah, 7, and Regan, 2.
Dr. Thoma's hobbies and special interests include spending time with family and friends, attending church, reading and outdoor recreational activities. |  |
