Palliative Care

Palliative care is the comprehensive care and management of the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs of patients of all ages and their families with acute, chronic, debilitating, or life threatening illness. It is appropriate at any point in an illness to help with pain and symptom control. Doctors, nurses, social workers, and chaplains who specialize in palliative care provide this continuum of care at Regional Medical Center. It may supplement other auxiliary services that the patients may be receiving such as home health and long-term care. Overall palliative care offers the patients the best possible quality of life during their illness.
