The community is encouraged to attend “Healthy Living 2013,” a free health fair co-sponsored by Lake Marion Rotary-Santee and the Regional Medical Center on Saturday, March 9.
This special community event will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Lake Marion High School Cafeteria, located at 3656 Tee Vee Road, Santee.
Designed to promote a healthy lifestyle, the event will feature free health screenings, health and safety information, information on Medicaid, social services and legal services, fun activities for children, prizes and food.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to offer our community this free event again this year in an effort to promote healthy lifestyles,” said Rotarian Gossie Heath-Mathis, MD, who is coordinating this event. “Also, we are offering fun activities along with safety and health education for children and expect this to add to the appeal of this special outreach.”
“RMC is delighted to be partnering with Lake Marion Rotary on this special event,” commented Patricia Funderburk, RMC Community Outreach Manager/Safe Kids Director. “We will provide free health screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar and total cholesterol. Other activities and health information, including diabetes education, will be offered. “
No registration is required. For best results on blood sugar and cholesterol screenings, 8-hour fasting is recommended.
