| Local garden clubs recently brought holiday cheer to the Regional Medical Center by decorating Christmas trees in lobby areas and other public areas throughout the hospital.
For the past 30 years, local garden clubs have dedicated their time, creativity and resources in decorating Christmas trees
for the hospital, a tradition that began after construction of the new hospital was completed in 1981. Each garden club
contributes months of hard work in planning for their decorations.
Ten garden clubs participated in the holiday decorating at RMC this year. The following is a list of participating garden clubs
and the respective locations of their trees: Verdant Garden Club-Orangeburg, Cafeteria; Dogwood Club-St. Matthews,
Main Visitors’ Entrance Lobby; Hoe ’N Hope Garden Club-Orangeburg, Same Day Surgery Lobby; Azalea Garden
Club-Orangeburg, Annex Building Lobby; Palmetto Gardeners-Orangeburg, Admitting/Registration Lobby; Bradford Village
Garden Club-Santee, the Mabry Center for Cancer Care; Dogwood Garden Club-Orangeburg, Second Floor Visitors’
Elevator Lobby; Elloree Garden Club, Third Floor Visitors’ Elevator Lobby; Magnolia Garden Club-Orangeburg, Fourth
Floor Visitors’ Elevator Lobby; and Wisteria Garden Club-Orangeburg, holiday arrangement in the Medical Staff Library.
