Richburg Joins Board of Trustees
   
Dr. Caesar R. Richburg, RMC Board of TrusteesDr. Caesar R. Richburg, of Orangeburg, recently was appointed by Orangeburg County Council to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Regional Medical Center.

A Sumter native, Dr. Richburg has served as senior pastor of Williams Chapel AME Church in Orangeburg since November 2006. Previously, Dr. Richburg served for 18 years as pastor of Allen Temple AME Church in Greenville, SC. While in Greenville, Dr. Richburg participated in successful initiates in the areas of housing, community economic development and supported partnerships and collaboration with various neighborhood associations in Greenville County. In addition to serving as pastor of Allen Temple AME Church and Williams Chapel AME Church, Dr. Richburg also served as pastor at Benton Avenue AME Church in Springfield, Mo., Friendship AME Church in Summerton, SC, and Mount Lebanon AME Church in Due West, SC.

Dr. Richburg, a graduate of Claflin University, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and Biology. He received a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, and a Master of Divinity Degree in Theology from Saint Paul School of Theology, also in Kansas City, Mo. He earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC.

Dr. Richburg served as a Commission Officer in the United States Regular Army (Infantry Branch). He has some 30 years of experience in management and sales and has served in leadership roles in the Gases Group for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., headquartered in Allentown, Pa. Dr. Richburg served the company as an account executive in eastern Kansas and Missouri for five years. For more than 23 years, he was branch manager and account executive in Columbia, S.C. and was responsible for sales in a sales territory of 36 counties and the greater Augusta, Ga. area.

Very active as a community servant, both locally and on the state-level, Dr. Richburg is a member of Allen University Board of Trustees, Friends of Juvenile Justice (state of South Carolina) Board of Directors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Directors, Orangeburg County, Orangeburg/Calhoun Free Medical Clinic Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of Martha Jean Heggins Foundation Institute Board of Directors, Chairman of Orangeburg County Youth Council Board, Chairman of West End Riverside Community Development Corporation Board of Directors, Community Action Board and South Carolina Community Bank Advisory Board.

Dr. Richburg serves as chaplain for the Orangeburg County Sheriff Department, is an adjunct professor at Claflin University, and is a member of Orangeburg Rotary Club-Morning, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and NAACP.

He and his wife, Ella, have three daughters; Felicia, an educator; Kendra, a dentist and recent graduate of Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tenn.; and Tiffany, a fourth year medical student at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tenn.
